From the business page

The Metropolitans' two brightest, most flowering, young men - Jose Barnabe Reyes and David Allen Wright - were signed to long term contracts through 2010 and 2013, respectively, thus ensuring numerous championships in the next decade as well as less single-digit numbers being worn by future Mets.
Good thing Jackie Robinson Park will have some extra space for retired numbers!

NB: BBPOTS will not be endorsing a candidate for the Connecticut U.S. Senate Democratic primary between U.S. Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, D-Conn., and wealthy Greenwich businessman Ned Lamont. We do, however, urge all registered and right thinking Connecticutians to go to the polls on numerous substances on Tuesday.

Recap

What's wrong with Captain Red Ass? We still don't know. What we do know is that Jose Barnabe Reyes is quickly becoming a leadoff hitter with some pop like everyone envisioned, smacking a grand tube steak in an 8-1 Metropolitan win over the hated Philadelphia side.

And John "Remember The" Maine pitched brilliantly, temporarily quieting talk of the need for another starter.

BBPOTS Players of the game: David Allen Wright (Saturday) and Jose Barnabe Reyes (Sunday).

BBPOTS Generalization of the Day: "People from Philadelphia are all assholes. They deserve losing sports teams."

uh oh!

What's wrong with unofficial team captain Paul LoDuca? He won't say, but he's sworn off reporters for the rest of the year.
Is he gay? Did his cat , Mr. Squirmies, die? Is it true he called back-up Ramon Castro a 'fat dancer'?
I guess we'll all have to stay tuned.
