3-6 on the road trip. Not good. But not the end of the world, either, considering the state of our rotation.

Not much to wring our hands over in this one. Lima gave up 4 in the first two innings, and Jason Marquis went 7 2/3 for the Red Birds to keep our bats quiet enough. Beltran had a two-run homer, and Valentin went solo in the top of the 8th.

We made it interesting in the 9th, with a walk to David Allen Wright and a Cliff Floyd double, but they have a player named Isringhausen, as Neil Koopman would say, and he was able to bear down to retire Castro and Chavez.

Check this space later for some top flight Yankee-hating.

BBPOTS Player of the Game: Carlos Beltran
