Recap

OK. SO WE SHOULD PROBABLY start winning games that Pedro starts again. That was a good habit. It was the basis for us thinking this team had a chance to go all the way this year. It is as important a thing to our season as the continued good health of Omar Minaya.

Pedro was serviceable, and lights-out at times, fanning 10(many looking at breaking pitches) through 7, with 4 runs, 3 on a Damian Miller bomb. Damian Miller? Whose picture is featured in this awful article from the BBC talking about how the Yankees should have won the series in 2001 because of 9/11.

Oh well. A day to recoup before the Cardinals and the hated crosstown Yanks over the weekend. More on them later this week, I promise.

Happy Recap

Why is it that every time this team needs a gut-check win, we're able to pull it out? Character, that's why. And nobody has more than Paul Lo Duca, who erased all the horrible memories of last night's bottom of the 8th with a moment of bat-flicking braggadoccio.

Let's not even get into the Prince Fielder home run call. Or the ridiculous ejections of Duaner and Willie. True, we squandered a four-run lead late in the game, but Paulie Walnuts got it done for us. Jeremi Gonzalez? Eh. We'll see, I suppose. But didn't Wagner look sharp in the 9th?
