Recap

Well, it's a good thing we took the first two. Today's game was obviously more important for the Braves to win than us, and that point was reflected by the game itself. The Braves wanted it more. We left 11 on base, couldn't stay close even when we scored, and always looked like coming up second-best today.

But so what? We took a meaningful series from the Braves on the road. Period. And today's loss cannot overshadow the effort the Metropolitans put in to take this series. By taking two of three, we not only stretched our lead in the loss column to six games, but we stopped them from taking any momentum from winning against us into another series.

Now, let's beat up on the Nats.

Happy Recap

I'm surprised I wasn't arrested after the end of last night's game, so jubilant was I after Billy Ked Jeff Francoeur. The pitching staff split a three-man shutout, with Glavine, Heilman and Wagner taking kudos tonight, but let's not forget last night's game, when Duaner Sanchez set it up for Billy flawlessly. Has a Metropolitans bullpen ever looked better on the road? In Atlanta, of all places?

As always, there's a lot of season to be played, but 7 up on the Bravos in the loss column is great news any day of the year.

BBPOTS Player of the Game: Tom Glavine
