Happy recap

Well, Banny hung in to give the Metropolitans the sloppiest 5 innings of one-run baseball any of us will ever see, but 5 IP 1 ER is 5 IP 1 ER, regardless of how many Brew-crew baserunners happened to trod the paths.

X came through early with a two-run bomb, and later sacrificed in a run to finish the day 2 for 3 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. But we didn't breathe easy until the bottom of the eighth, when, up only one run, Carlos Del-got-one to smash off the 1999 Wildcard Winner emblem in right field, and we even breathed easy when Willie brought in Jorge Julio to pitch a scoreless 9th.

Oh, and David Allen Wright, who gave his only son to die for our sins, went 2 for 4 with a double and scored two runs, bringing his average to .429. Not bad.

BBPOTS Player of the game: Xavier Nady
